A Contemplative Dance/Authentic Movement Weekend Workshop
Odyssey – an adventurous and eventful journey of wanderings and experiences that often results in personal transformation.
A Weekend Journey in Six Movements
Friday, June 26, 5 PM – Sunday, June 28, 6 PM 2026
Brief Description: We invite you to join us for a weekend of contemplative movement and engagement with nature in community. We will host sessions at several natural places around Tippecanoe County, Indiana, as we explore personal transformation with movement in nature. We will explore the river-side park of Fort Ouiatenon, the restored prairie of Prophetstown Park, the waters of Wildcat Creek, and woodland pathways of the Heritage Trail. During the multiple journeys outside, we will find spaces to pause, contemplate, explore, and express gratitude through facilitated sessions of contemplative movement and active imagination. We will have meals together, laugh together, explore inner landscapes, and capture our learning with creative forming.
Facilitator and Hosts: Alton Wasson has been facilitating Contemplative Dance / Authentic Movement retreats and river journeys for over 40 years. Trained in Contemplative Dance, Andrew Brightman and Holly Jaycox have been leading contemplative movement sessions in Indiana for over a decade and are excited to host one of their teachers here again. Together, Alton, Andrew, and Holly welcome fellow travelers to share their love of nature, movement, and poetry as each person finds their individual pathway through the challenges of life. No previous experience necessary. For more information and to register, please see the workshop information and registration form. Please send all inquiries to Andrew at aobbright@gmail.com.
